These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and PC Builder® (“PC Builder”, “we”, “us”), for using pcbuilder.net and its tools (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
- PC Builder is free. We earn commission when you buy through our Amazon links, at no extra cost to you.
- Our compatibility checks are a guide, not a guarantee. Always confirm with the manufacturer before you buy.
- Prices and availability come from Amazon and can change at any time. Amazon is the seller, not us.
- Don’t scrape the site or copy our database.
- Indian law applies, with courts at Jaipur. Your rights as a consumer where you live are not affected.
1. The Service
PC Builder helps you plan a computer: you pick parts, the Service filters for parts that work together, estimates power draw and shows prices from Amazon stores in supported countries. You can also browse pre-built PCs and laptops, save builds and share them. The Service is free to use.
We may change, add or remove features, or suspend the Service for maintenance, at any time.
2. Compatibility checks are not a guarantee
Our compatibility checks use the specifications in our database, such as socket, chipset, memory type and slots, form factor and estimated wattage. Specifications can be incomplete or wrong, and some things are not checked at all, including graphics card length, CPU cooler height, RAM clearance and power supply connectors.
You are responsible for confirming that the parts you choose work together, using the manufacturers’ specifications, before you buy. We are not responsible for parts that turn out to be incompatible.
3. Prices, availability and Amazon
- Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date and time shown and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of the product.
- We don’t sell any products. Purchases are made on Amazon and are governed by Amazon’s terms, including delivery, returns and warranty.
- As an Amazon Associate, PC Builder earns from qualifying purchases. Our links to Amazon are affiliate links; see our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Product names, images and descriptions may come from manufacturers or retailers and may contain errors.
4. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information, keep your password private and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity in your account.
- You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing us.
5. Saved builds and your content
Anyone with the link to a saved or shared build can view it. You keep ownership of anything you add, such as build names, and you give us a free, worldwide licence to store and display it as part of the Service. Don’t include personal information or anything unlawful, offensive or infringing in build names. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- scrape, crawl or copy the Service or its data with bots or scripts, except search engines indexing public pages under our robots.txt;
- copy, extract or republish our parts database, compatibility data or PCB Benchmark scores;
- call our internal endpoints or APIs directly, or overload, disrupt or try to break the Service’s security;
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful, or to impersonate anyone;
- upload anything that infringes someone else’s rights, contains malware or is obscene, defamatory or harassing.
We may block access, suspend accounts or take legal action against anyone who breaks these rules.
7. Our intellectual property and trademarks
“PC Builder” is a registered trademark:
- India: Trade Marks Registry, Application No. 5794324 (Class 35), registered.
- United States: USPTO Registration No. 8006700 (Class 35), registered.
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, software, the compilation of our parts database and compatibility data, and the PCB Benchmark scores, belongs to us and is protected by law. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial planning. You may not use our name, logo or trademarks, or anything confusingly similar, for your own products, apps, websites or domain names without our written permission.
Other product names, logos and brands shown on the Service, including Amazon, Intel, AMD and NVIDIA, are the property of their owners. Showing them doesn’t mean they endorse us.
8. Third-party websites
The Service links to websites we don’t control, mainly Amazon stores. We aren’t responsible for their content, products, terms or privacy practices.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information. We don’t guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that prices, specifications, compatibility results or benchmark scores are accurate or up to date.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service, including any purchase you make based on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your content or your misuse of the Service.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you break these Terms, if we have to by law, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 2, 3, 7 and 9 to 14 continue to apply after that.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. If it isn’t resolved within 30 days, the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any rights you have under the laws of the country where you live, including the right to bring claims in your local courts.
14. Grievance Officer
As required by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, complaints about the Service or content on it can be sent to our Grievance Officer: Sunny Bundel, A-266, Triveni Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302018, India. Email: [email protected] (subject: “Grievance”). We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within one month.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell account holders by email about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms.
16. General
These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right, we haven’t waived it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them if the Service is sold or transferred.
